The partners of Young & de la Sota Architects (YSA) began their professional collaboration in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1989, continuing their work together in San Juan, Puerto Rico during 1990 and 1991. Seeking experience in new forms of housing, schools and sustainable design, YSA moved the practice to San Francisco, California in 1992, to the forward looking West Coast and Pacific Rim markets. After eight fruitful years and with lessons learned, YSA returned to its San Juan roots in 2000.
The firm has experience in the planning and design of a broad range of projects including residential, interiors, institutional, industrial, commercial, recreational, business and civic projects. In addition, it undertakes sustainability programs, feasibility design studies, adaptive re-use, land planning, master planning projects and the design of environmental graphics.
YSA is a certified Minority and Woman Owned Business Enterprise.
