Taylor Residence and Guest House

Menlo Park, California (1992)

Main House Court Entry

The client's initial commission was for a new guest-house, however, after acquiring additional acreage that included a California ranch-style residence, it was decided that a remodel and add-on to the residence was required.

The design included a partial demolition and remodel of the building to include two bedrooms, two full baths, two half baths, a kitchen, dining room, and great room. The addition to the residence provides a private screening room and outdoor dining areas that overlook a private three-hole golf fairway and green and outdoor swimming pool. Separate buildings to house a gym and indoor pool and additional buildings across the estate to house maintenance equipment, a greenhouse and vegetable gardens. At least one YSA principal participated as design architect, supervising architect and/or senior designer while associated with the architect-of-record for this project.
